The Championship is tipped to have one of the most intense promotion battles in recent years.
Though Featherstone Rovers and Leigh Centurions have recruited heavily, only one can earn promotion to the promised land of Super League.
In recent weeks, Rovers have continued their recruitment, signing Mark Kheirallah and Johnathon Ford after the duo were released by Toulouse Olympique.
In response to that, a number of fans have taunted Leigh owner Derek Beaumont about them ‘choosing’ Featherstone over the Centurions.
But, Beaumont has responded, stating that he had no interest in either player even though he was offered the pair as well as defending his own fullback Caleb Aekins.
Beaumont tweeted – after being asked whether he believed Aekins is better than Kheirallah – “Yes I am 24 year old with 19 first grade NRL games versus a 32 year old with 1 NRL game and then a career in championship. Pretty sure will get more out of Caleb. Mark a good proven champ player. Caleb got a bright future ahead! We all have opinions I trust in those of my staff.”

The race for promotion continues to heat up between Rovers and Leigh, but only one can make it to Super League at the end of the season.
