Leigh Centurions miss out on Super League fullback

Leigh Centurions have missed out on Super League fullback Adam Quinlan.

The diminutive number one has been linked with a move to the Championship club following Leigh’s relegation and Hull KR’s confirmation that he would not be given another deal.

However, Quinlan is now returning home to Australia after failing to strike up a deal with another English club.

The 28-year-old was released by the Robins after they signed three-time Grand Final winner Lachlan Coote from St Helens.

That meant that Quinlan’s 68 appearances would not be added to following five years on Humberside.

It was thought Leigh were interested after Ryan Brierley departed to join Salford Red Devils in Super League, but the Centurions will now look elsewhere for a new number one.

Quinlan started his career in the NRL with St George Illawarra before a brief spell in Super League with St Helens.

The fullback returned to Australia with the Dragons, but quickly came back to Super League – this time to ply his trade with Rovers.
