When Chris Chester was appointed as Head of Rugby a fortnight ago, he knew the task of rebuilding a Leigh Centurions side that had been devastated in the top flight would be difficult.
But, he is confident that – in terms of attracting a head coach capable of getting the Centurions back to Super League – it can be done with an announcement in due course.
“It’s ongoing, we’ve got an interview process that will happen this week,” Chester said.
“I’ve had numerous names thrown at us and individually I will go and meet them on a personal note and then hopefully we will get an interview at the end of the week with a view to announcing it at the end of the week or early next week.
“There are some guys there that have Super League experience and some guys that have been in the Championship for a number of years, so it’s making sure we are diligent in the process and making sure we get the same person for Leigh Centurions.”
