Leigh Centurions given player help from St Helens and Wigan Warriors

Leigh Centurions will have two Super League players in their ranks for this weekend’s clash against Halifax Panthers.

It’s a key tie for both sides as they aim to break Featherstone Rovers’ monopoly at the top of the Super League, and head coach Adrian Lam has confirmed that Leigh will have a St Helens and Wigan Warriors player in their ranks.

“Joining our squad this week will James McDonnell from Wigan, and James Bell from St Helens,” Lam told Leigh TV.

“He’s a former player here last year and popular with the players and the fans – we will welcome them both into the squad.”

Lam’s new signing, Krisnan Inu, will not make his debut for the club this weekend, but it looks rosy for the near future.

“Krisnan Inu got into the country late last week, he hasn’t had that basic training with us yet.

“If he gets through this week then he will be part of the squad.”

Leigh were able to overcome Bradford Bulls in the Challenge Cup last Monday but will be hoping for a bit of an easier ride after they had to rely on a late Ed Chamberlain try to overcome their rivals.
