Leigh boss has his say on punch-up and red cards

Leigh went down 50-6 against Wigan yesterday, but one of the main talking points was the brawl that ensued in just the 15th minute.

Wigan’s Brad Singleton carted the ball up into the Centurions’ line from the kick-off and was met by debutant Jack Ashworth.

A punch-up followed, with Leigh boss Kurt Haggerty giving his honest opinion.

“It happened so quickly,” Haggerty said.

“I have only seen it back once, so I haven’t seen it enough times to see the situation.

“But the way the game is now, if you throw punches you have a good chance of going to the bin or getting sent off.”

Leigh are still yet to win a game, sitting bottom of the table after 14 games.
