Warrington Wolves surprisingly finished 11th in 2022 but now that Daryl Powell has been in the Halliwell Jones hotseat for 12 months he can now begin to put his stamp on things at the club.
He has made a number of major signings including the arrival of NRL duo Paul Vaughn and Josh McGuire.
Legendary Australian commentator Andrew Voss in England to help the BBC cover the Rugby League World Cup and visited Warrington this week.
He is tipping both Vaughn and McGuire to impress in 2023 having commentated on the duo in the NRL for years: “Good day Warrington fans, just a little preview for you for next season about a couple of your players that you have for the 2023 season.
“Paul Vaughn and Josh McGuire. Now I’ll be watching from afar but let me tell you these are two tough and skilful forwards.
“Representative forwards, both have played for their countries both have played State of Origin.
“You have got two genuinely good rugby league players coming over here.
“Paul Vaughn and Josh McGuire will rip it up in the 2023 Super League season, just my opinion.”

McGuire brings major international pedigree having played for both Samoa and Australia who battled today in the World Cup Final.
He can’t decide who he wants to win: “I played for both, I’m torn. My mum is Samoan, my dad’s Australian. I’m very excited to watch it, it’ll be the first game I’ve ever gone to watch that I’ve not played in. I’m going to sit on the fence, I hope the best team wins and hopefully it is an injury free great game of rugby in front of a packed house.”
