Legendary Australian commentator Andrew Voss reveals the best two teams in the Rugby League World Cup

The Men’s Rugby League World Cup is down to its last four teams.

On Friday night the world’s number one ranked team New Zealand collide with World Cup holders and favourites Australia at Elland Road in the semi-finals with a place at Old Trafford up for grabs.

Meanwhile, on Saturday at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, England and Samoa are set to battle it out for the other place in the final on Saturday the 19th November.

All four have been exceptional though we have seen the frailties of New Zealand last week against Fiji and indeed Samoa were beaten in their opening game against England 60-6.

England have been in red hot form all tournament epitomised by their imperious display against Papua New Guinea in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Australia could also be regarded as the best performing side of the tournament so far. The most tries they’ve conceded in a single game is two.

However, the status of the tournament’s best team is also being challenged for by women’s and wheelchair sides.

Both England Wheelchair and France Wheelchair have demonstrated why they’re expected to meet in the final with England coming up with an excellent 38-8 win over Australia in the opening game.

Meanwhile, the likes of England, New Zealand and Australia women have all been excellent.

So, it is a fascinating debate, and legendary Australian commentator Andrew Voss has had his say taking to Twitter to say: “Throwing this out there. The 2 best sides I have seen at this taking into account all three competitions: The Australian Women’s team are the most talented in my opinion and England Wheelchair just a shade behind. What do you reckon?”
