Leeming and Mellor to miss Rhinos’ Boxing Day clash

Leeds Rhinos have confirmed new signings Kruise Leeming and Alex Mellor will miss the club’s Boxing Day clash with Wakefield through injury.

The pair were set to make their debuts in the Festive challenge but are now unavailable after picking up knee and groin knocks respectively.

Young forward Muizz Mustapha will also miss the game after rolling his ankle in training.

In their places, 19-year-old Corey Johnson has been named at hooker, while Alex Sutcliffe now starts in the second row.

Teenage outside back Jack Broadbent and prop Wellington Albert, who will join Featherstone in the New Year, have been drafted in on the bench.
