Leeds trio left out of side to take on Wigan including in demand star

Tonight will see Wigan Warriors look to restart their winning run after a blip last week against Hull FC and facing them will be Rohan Smith’s Leeds Rhinos.

The Rhinos suffered back to back defeats for the first time since round one and two when they fell short against Salford last week and they now face the daunting prospect of travelling to the DW.

Leeds have only won once away from Headingley this season whereas Wigan have only lost at the DW once which would suggest Smith’s side could be in for a tough test.

Adding to that test would be that they will be without Jack Sinfield who suffered a head blow last week and that will severely affect their depth in the half-backs as they’re also without Aidan Sezer who suffered a dead leg two weeks ago against Leigh.

Three players have already been left out of Leeds’ side tonight as they have been named in the reserves for their own clash against Wigan.

Signing Derrell Olpherts returns from injury to play centre for the reserves.

Meanwhile, hooker Cory Johnson is also named in the side which means that Jarrod O’Connor and James Bentley could share the number nine role.

Lastly, somewhat controversially, Sam Walters is named in the side at loose-forward.

Leeds fans are concerned that the more he gets left out the more likely it is the young forward will leave the club.
