Leeds to get a crucial win at Huddersfield ?

Most of the excitement seems to be at the bottom of the table as we reach the last part of the season and another massive game is on Sky later as Leeds travel to Huddersfield .

Bookies can’t split these 2 but you can get around 11/10 for Leeds if you shop around with the hosts a best priced 19/20 . There is no doubt this is the biggest game between these 2 since Leeds last gasp League Leaders Shield clinching win here 4 years ago . With London and Hull KR having winnable home games this week  a defeat for the Rhinos could see them marooned at the bottom and push Huddersfield 4 points clear with a better points difference than most their rivals . A win for Leeds would see them join the Giants on 18 points in what has become a fascinating 5 way battle for survival .

Leeds have lost their last 2 but they were very unlucky to lose to Hull last time out and I think they may just nick this . Their last trip on the road was an impressive win at Castleford and whilst Huddersfield have had some decent wins away from home they have struggled at the John Smith’s Stadium , losing 4 of their last 5 .

Games between these 2 are usually very tight and this should be no different , you can’t rule out an 80 minute draw at 20/1 as these 2 have a history of sharing the points but I think Leeds can  nick this by 6-10 points and move a step closer to safety .

This could be a strange game for giants Alex Mellor as he’s signed for the rhinos for next season , he looks value at 9/2 to score a try anytime .

Lee Gaskell has been one of the most improve players in Super League this year and he’d be my pick at 8/1 for man of the match , just ahead of Kruise Leeming at 16/1. As for the visitors I’d just favour 11/1 Myler over Robert Lui , who has definitely brought improvement to Headingley .
