Richie Myler has been shown an early yellow card at Headingley as Leeds Rhinos do it tough against Huddersfield Giants.

The Rhinos fans are up in arms over what they feel is a soft yellow card and one that is as consequence controversial.

Either way the fullback’s actions prevented a try for Jermaine McGillvary who chased a lovely kick through from Tui Lolohea who, unlike the team sheet says, is operating at fullback himself.

Myler was second to the kick but as he went for it McGillvary caught it and was caught round the face by Myler.

Myler will argue he was going for the ball but it could be said that it was a tackle attempt and either way it was around McGillvary’s head and thus he will spend the next 10 in the sin bin as Leeds do it tough.

They trail 10-0 to the Giants after conceding to a McGillvary try in the first four minutes from a deflected kick from Jake Connor.

Chris McQueen then stormed over for the Giants’ second bumping off Blake Austin.

The Giants nearly scored a third with Kevin Naiqama going over but the video referee ruled that he was held up.

Leeds will be looking to hold on in the next 10 minutes and mount a fightback against one of the toughest teams to break down in Super League.
