Rhyse Martin has told Leeds Live that his future remains unclear at the club.
Martin – who joined midway through 2019 from NRL side Canterbury – is out of contract at the end of the year and he has yet to sign a new deal.
The PNG international did, however, reveal that talks had stagnated due to Leeds’ halfback chase.
“To be honest, it’s up in the air,” he told Rugby League Live.
“The last I heard, the club was looking at getting a halfback sorted and I’ll try sort something out soon.
“For me, I want to keep my options but I’ve been really happy at Leeds, I’ve great mates and a great lifestyle living in Leeds and I’ve enjoyed my time there.
“Hopefully I can sort something sooner rather than later. At this point in time, it’s just a waiting game.
“Until I know, I’ll just be waiting for it really.”
