Leeds star set to leave

Robert Lui will be returning home at the end of 2021, the Yorkshire Evening Post has confirmed.

The halfback has been at Headingley since 2019, following a move from Salford Red Devils and played a key role in helping the Rhinos avoid relegation that year.

However, Lui is keen to return home, mainly for family reasons.

Lui told the Evening Post: “Me and my family have decided this is going to be my last year here.

“It wasn’t fair on my partner being over here, away from family – with my son being autistic too.

“I am going to go back home and hopefully play in the Queensland Cup, up north where I am from.”

Since joining in 2019 – first on-loan then permanently – Lui has made almost 30 appearances and was part of the Challenge Cup winning side last year. Before that, the Aussie played 102 games for Salford after moving from NRL side North Queensland Cowboys.
