Leeds Rhinos with brilliant and heart warming idea ahead of clash with Wakefield Trinity

Leeds Rhinos are offering supporters the chance to remember loved ones during a minute’s silence before The Wetherby Whaler Festive Challenge game against Wakefield on 26th December.

The chance to reflect on the year that has gone passed was introduced seven years ago and will be continued when Leeds and Wakefield meet at Headingley on Boxing Day morning.

The annual traditional friendly game will give fans a chance to remember loved ones who have passed away during the past year with a minutes silence before kick off.

The club are asking fans who know of Leeds fans who have passed away during the last 12 months to send in the name of the deceased supporter they wish to commemorate in the Boxing Day programme. If you could email their name and the month they passed away this year so we can put the list in chronological order.

Email leanne.flynn@therhinos.co.uk by Friday 16th December with the name you wish to include. We regret we can not include any further names received after this date.

The friendly is always a great occasion between two West Yorkshire rivals.

The Rhinos are set to also meet Leigh Leopards prior to the start of the Super League season which comes on 16th February away at Warrington Wolves.
