Leeds Rhinos vs Hull FC team news with 12 out and 3 doubts

Hull FC Leeds Rhinos

Leeds Rhinos take on Hull FC tonight at Headingley in a key game in the race for the Super League play-off places.

For the Rhinos, this is a must-win game if they are to make the play-offs at the end of this year, with Leigh Leopards a point ahead, Salford Red Devils and St Helens two points ahead and Catalans Dragons ahead on points difference – in a fight for just two spots.

However, for Hull FC, it’s about trying to keep away from the foot of the table – they’re currently level on just six points with London Broncos.

After missing four games with a rib injury, Mikolaj Oledzki is back in the 21-man squad, in a major boost for a side that has struggled for front-rowers all season.

He replaced Mickael Goudemand in the only change for Arthur’s side from last week.

However, still missing include prop Tom Holroyd (concussion), second-row Morgan Gannon (concussion) and centre Max Simpson (knee), who are all out for the season – as is winger Ash Handley.

Three changes from Scott Grix to the 21-man squad saw Jed Cartwright, Matty Laidlaw and Tiaki Chan enter the side, replacing Danny Houghton, Leon Ruan and Ryan Westerman.

Brad Fash should return for this game after a back issue, Jed Cartwright has passed the return-to-play protocols after his failed HIA.

Meanwhile, Jack Ashworth and Ligi Sao should be fit to play, despite being doubts due to a back injury and a head injury respectively.

However, Danny Houghton has a fresh calf injury concern and may not return again this season ahead of retirement.

Alongside Houghton, there are a number of players that remain out: Liam Sutcliffe (foot), Jake Trueman (calf), Davy Litten (knee) Nick Staveley (knee), Charlie Severs (shoulder), Ed Chamberlain (shoulder), King Vuniyayawa (ankle), and Will Kirby.
