The head coaches of Leeds Rhinos and Hull FC have selected their 21-man squads ahead of their Super League clash on Friday night.
For the Rhinos, this is a must-win game if they are to make the play-offs at the end of this year, with Leigh Leopards a point ahead, Salford Red Devils and St Helens two points ahead and Catalans Dragons ahead on points difference – in a fight for just two spots.
They’ll be hoping for a major improvement from last week, and Brad Arthur said following their narrow win over London Broncos: “We are going home with the two points, but we are not happy with how it happened.
“We have got a five-day turnaround and we know that performance is not good enough. I don’t need to go on and on about it.”
Meanwhile, Hull FC are playing for pride – they can’t mathematically finish any higher than 11th, after their loss to Castleford Tigers, but will be desperate to not finish bottom.
They currently sit level with London Broncos on six points, with just three wins all season.
Leeds Rhinos team news
After missing four games with a rib injury, Mikolaj Oledzki is back in the 21-man squad, in a major boost for a side that has struggled for front-rowers all season.
He replaces Mickael Goudemand in the only change for Arthur’s side from last week.
However, still missing include prop Tom Holroyd (concussion), second-row Morgan Gannon (concussion) and centre Max Simpson (knee), who are all out for the season – as is winger Ash Handley.
Hull FC team news
Meanwhile, Scott Grix has made three changes, with Jed Cartwright, Matty Laidlaw and Tiaki Chan all entering the side.
Danny Houghton is injured again, with a calf injury: he drops out alongside Leon Ruan and Ryan Westerman.
Hull FC have a long injury list, and still have no Liam Sutcliffe (foot), Jake Trueman (calf), Davy Litten (knee) Nick Staveley (knee), Charlie Severs (shoulder), Ed Chamberlain (shoulder), King Vuniyayawa (ankle), or Will Kirby.
