Leeds Rhinos star names two players who have shone during pre-season

Leeds Rhinos full-back Lachie Miller has revealed the players training the house down at Headingley with one player compared to the ‘Terminator’.

Miller, who is nursing a hamstring injury that he picked up Down Under, has been a spectator at training for the most part as a result of the fact he is rehabbing his injury.

As such, it has meant that the speedster has been able to see which players have been tearing it up ahead of the 2025 campaign with two forwards singled out for major praise.

The Rhinos have already played their first pre-season game, defeating Wakefield Trinity 18-16 on Boxing Day in their traditional clash but speaking earlier that month Miller spoke on the incredible shape the squad was in.

“Everyone is so fit, they came back in such good shape, like every single one of them,” Miller told The Lot Pod – an independent Leeds Rhinos podcast.

“It wasn’t like three or four like last year came back really good, it was the whole team.”

Much of the club’s improvement under Brad Arthur in the final ten games of the season seemed to be based on effort areas and discipline, two things that have clearly fed into the off-season with Miller labelling it as “another level of professionalism”.

The full-back explained: “It was another level of professionalism but also Brad just said if you want to win then you’re going to have to pull your finger out type thing and we’re going to have to buy into this.

“Everyone did buy into it, everyone came back, everyone’s testing times were really good, everyone’s looking fit.”

Speaking about specific players, Miller named two of the club’s forwards as being standout performers with one compared to the iconic Terminator.

“Sam (Lisone) has dropped heaps of weight. Mate, he looks good,” Miller revealed.

“I’ve had that little injury, so I’m just sort of gradually building back into the team. So I’ve been doing a lot of watching. He looks really good.”

He would also give plaudits to forward Tom Holroyd, noting: “He’s like the Terminator that guy – don’t get in his way. He’s been training really well.”
