Leeds Rhinos star “might be looking for an out” claims Sky Sports presenter

Sky Sports’ Brian Carney has claimed that there are rumours bubbling that Leeds Rhinos star Harry Newman “might be looking for an out” despite being contracted to the club until 2024.

He said ahead of Leeds’ clash with Wigan Warriors: “There are rumours bubbling up again this week that he might be looking for an out.”

He asked Newman’s former teammate Stevie Ward if he had heard anything and Ward said any club would be interested in the centre:

“I haven’t heard anything about that. He is a weapon, he is prolific and the way he return the ball so anyone would want to pick him up.”

This all comes after his bust up with Tom Holroyd.

Ward said of the bust up: “Listen we are all human beings and I am one to express emotion. I think we should get that out.

“He’s probably got caught up, personally for himself he has missed a Grand Final and World Cup. He has to get that emotion out somehow but where it goes and where he directs it too, is there trust around him and people around him where he can filter it out into a worthy cause.

“That is another question.”

Phil Clark added: “He seems to be an individual player, has an individual mind and you have to let that magic come out.”
