Leeds Rhinos star & Huddersfield Giants recruit headline Cook Islands squad alongside ex-Wigan Warriors man

Tony Iro has named an impressive Cook Islands squad for the Rugby League World Cup.

The headline inclusions are Leeds Rhinos forward and former New Zealand international and NRL winner Zane Tetevano and Huddersfield Giants’ new signing Esan Marsters who joins the club for 2023 and beyond.

Meanwhile, Featherstone Rovers halfback Johnathon Ford is named alongside Wakefield Trinity forward Tinirau Arona and Hull KR’s departing Brad Takairangi.

Meanwhile Catalans are represented by former NRL prop Dylan Napa and there is a further French connection with Toulouse’s Dominique Peyroux who is formerly of St Helens.

The big inclusion is former Wigan and Warrington centre Anthony Gelling as well as the son of former Leeds and St Helens star Kevin Iro, Kayal of the Cronulla Sharks.
