Leeds Rhinos star Harry Newman shares ominous message to Super League rivals

Leeds Rhinos star Harry Newman is one of the most exciting talents in Super League at present.

With a turn of pace to be scared of, a physicality to envy and a passion that shines right through, the English centre is edging his way into Shaun Wane’s thinking for the World Cup at the end of the year.

He really is that good; despite being plagued by injury in recent seasons, Newman has hit the ground running since returning from a serious hamstring problem, being one of Leeds’ key men in their turnaround under new boss Rohan Smith.

In fact, the turn around has been so great that the Rhinos now occupy sixth spot in the Super League table, just one point behind local rivals Castleford Tigers whose form has seen them lose their last two fixtures.

If anything, Leeds now hold the momentum of the chasing pack for one of those elusive play-off spots – and Newman has sent out an ominous message to his Super League rivals.

Newman posted on social media giant, Instagram: “@leedsrhinos Fans you were outstanding again! This Team just keeps growing…onto the next!”

It really is an incredible transformation considering that the West Yorkshire club were languishing near the bottom in a relegation dogfight at the beginning of the season.

Of course, Richard Agar stepped down as Rhinos boss and he is now heading for the New Zealand Warriors in the NRL to be an assistant coach, but Jamie Jones-Buchanan was tasked with trying to reimagine Leeds’ fortunes in such a short space of time.

And, that improvement came slowly, but under Smith, the improvement has been incredible with Leeds now scoring the most points in the competition since Smith took over.
