Leeds Rhinos star “gutted” and “disappointed” by lack of game time in World Cup

After a brilliant season in 2022, Leeds Rhinos star Mikolaj Oledzki’s preparations for the new season have had the worst start with surgery required on a shoulder injury which will see him miss the start of the season as he spends the next 12-14 weeks recovering.

However, the surgery went as well as possible according to Oledzki when speaking on the club’s YouTube channel:

“Yeah perfect really, the best it could have done. It feels fine now, it’s been a week or so. Everything is going in the right direction, I am where I wanted to be and the same with the medical staff, they’re happy.

“The surgeon did a great job, we’re on a recovery stage now and hopefully get moving.”

He also explained that he was disappointed that he didn’t play as much as he wanted to in the World Cup for England which has left him determined to get better:

“I was really looking forward to the off season, it was a really long season with plenty of ups and downs and it was a really long time to get bashed about but the way I finished the season left me hungry and wanting to get better and I was disappointed, I wanted to play more in the World Cup and I was really gutted that I didn’t play as much but it has left me hungry and wanting to improve the things I need to improve.”
