Leeds Rhinos star forced to clarify social media post after fan backlash

Things aren’t great at Leeds Rhinos at the moment.

The fans are naturally very unhappy given their recent form.

They have only won one of the last seven games, a run that has seen them fall six points behind in the play-off race and be dumped out of the Challenge Cup against Wigan Warriors.

However, defeats to Wigan and St Helens can be excused but the Rhinos fans have been particularly unhappy with the last two defeats.

Leeds have to the bottom two over the last fortnight. They lost at the Magic Weekend to Castleford Tigers first before losing to previously winless Wakefield Trinity over the weekend.

Wakefield were also missing 13 players and had a man sent off but still claimed a famous win.

Between the bottom two they have four wins three of which have come at the expense of Leeds and the other came from the meeting between the two.

So it is safe to say Leeds fans aren’t happy and they now have a week off to set things right.

However, Leeds fans were furious today when it seemed star player Blake Austin had gone on holiday to Spain.

This is because on his Instagram story he tagged a place in Spain.

But the stand-off is certainly not in Spain. In fact he is getting an injection to ensure he is up to speed when Leeds host Huddersfield Giants in Round 16.

Austin explained: “To anyone offended by me tagging Spain in my last story, I was sat in Leeds Mall referencing the sun and the Acai Bowl. I’m currently on a train to Liverpool for an injection to make sure I’m ready to hit the ground running. Chill guys.”
