Leeds Rhinos star could be set for NRL switch despite recent controversy

James Bentley has been making headlines recently over an alleged incident with England star Victor Radley following England’s dramatic exit from the Rugby League World Cup at the hands of Samoa in the semi-final at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Following this Fox League is reporting that the Irish international and Leeds Rhinos star is seeking an a move to the NRL and has even been shopped around to potential suitors in the NRL.

Bentley only joined Leeds in 2022 after making his name at the dominant St Helens.

He helped the club to the 2020 Super League Grand Final win after playing a bit part in their success in 2019.

Meanwhile, in 2021 he missed out on the Challenge Cup Final and the Super League Grand Final due to injury prior to helping the Rhinos to Old Trafford for the 2022 Grand Final.

Bentley didn’t have the best start to his Leeds career getting sent off within 16 minutes of making his debut against Warrington Wolves.

However, he got over these initial struggles and was superb especially under new coach Rohan Smith.

Leeds fended off interest from NRL clubs when they signed him from St Helens but it now emerges that Bentley may now make the move according to Fox League.
