Leeds Rhinos star already impressed by signing

Leeds Rhinos have made a host of signings going into 2023.

Many of them are young British players with huge potential like Leon Ruan from Doncaster, Luis Roberts formerly of Salford Red Devils and Leigh Leopards, Toby Warren of York and former Wakefield Trinity and Batley Bulldogs fullback Luke Hooley.

But one of the best signings the Rhinos have made is young backrow James McDonnell from Wigan Warriors and star fullback Richie Myler is already impressed.

He said on the Rhinos’ Youtube channel:

“He’s a grafter, he’s a very hard worker. A no nonsense guy, he gets his head down. He impressed me in camp, I spoke to Rohan whilst I was in camp and said how impressed I was with how he trains and carries himself. The South Stand will look forward to watching him play.”

He also thinks Leeds have assembled a strong squad in 2023:

“I think that helps, if you stay fit and healthy. I think we hardly played together six, seven, nine and one. We had a lot of injuries and players playing in different positions. It’s credit to the squad we’ve assembled, we have a lot of young players who are keen.

McDonnell has been awarded the number 19 shirt whilst Myler, after starring as the club’s fullback for the last three seasons has been moved up to the number one shirt.
