Leeds Rhinos signing on his debut and the role he will play

Yesterday two Leeds Rhinos signings made their debuts against Leigh Leopards.

Former Salford Red Devils winger Luis Roberts scored against his former club whilst former NRL prop Sam Lisone came off the bench for his debut after joining from Gold Coast Titans.

After the game, Lisone spoke to the club’s YouTube channel and said he felt it was a positive first hit out:

“Yeah it was pretty good, I was pretty stoked to get my first hit out. It was bit cold out there, but it was good and I’m feeling positive about the performance.

“We started pretty well, it’s a friendly and we’re practicing combinations, we have a lot to work on as well but year pretty good.”

He did note that he was nervous before the game:

“I was a little nervous, I didn’t know what to expect. I was more excited though to put on a Rhinos jersey and to play with all the boys.”

He started on the bench and this was something that he is very accustomed to:

“I played most of my NRL career off the bench so I know that role, it was pretty cool.

“There is a lot to build on as a team and we get another chance to practice again against Bradford.”
