Leeds Rhinos signing makes loan move

Leeds Rhinos signing Luke Hooley has left the club on a short term loan.

He has taken up a two week loan at former club Batley Bulldogs.

The Championship side confirmed as such on Twitter.

They made the following statement:

“We’re welcoming Luke Hooley back to The Bulldogs as he joins on a 2 Week loan from Leeds Rhinos.”

Hooley made his Super League debut last week in a difficult game last Friday.

The rain and wind made it the worst possibly day for a fullback and he and his fellow back three struggled.

Hooley still has plenty of potential and will surely be a star of Super League in the future but will for now return to Championship with his former club.

Richie Myler will be back this week after missing last week through the birth of his baby.

Leeds recently rejected a loan move from Wakefield Trinity for the fullback.

On signing for the Rhinos, Hooley previously said:

“I can’t wait to get started at Leeds, to join the Rhinos is a dream come true especially getting another chance in Super League with such a big club. Rohan was a big influence on my decision, I knew him from my time at Bradford and it was a no brainer to work with him again.

“I think it is massive for players in the Championship to know they can get another shot at Super League. When I left Wakefield I thought I was done and would never play in Super League. But it just goes to show if you work hard, enjoy your rugby again and get some games under your belt that anything can happen. Batley have looked after me from the first day I arrived at the club and shown my family and I nothing but respect. Every credit should go to Batley for putting me in the right direction to where I am today and I will always be grateful to the club.”
