Leeds Rhinos reveal who will captain the side on Boxing Day as Richard Agar gives update on Jack Sinfield

Leeds Rhinos head coach Richard Agar has named his captain ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Wakefield Trinity.

Ash Handley will lead out the side, with Jack Sinfield – the son of heroic Kevin – playing a role in the fixture.

The young half back has been elevated to the first team squad this close season and has impressed the coaching staff.

“Jack will be involved, we will give him some time at the weekend and it’s a great opportunity for us to reward for the pre-season he is having,” Agar told Rhinos TV.

“It will be the first time he has played against men which will be a whole new experience for him and there will be a bigger crowd than he has played in front of before.

“He will be playing with senior players, but we expect Jack to do the simple things really well and get a good taste and feel and experience for what first grade is all about.

“We’re not setting the expectation levels too high for Jack this season given that it is his first pre-season, but you can never rule it out because you never know.”

Aidan Sezer, Blake Austin and James Bentley are expected to debut for the Rhinos, but it will come too soon for David Fusitu’a.
