Leeds Rhinos remember former player Nick Smith who passed away with MND having played with Kevin Sinfield

Today, Leeds Rhinos have joined others in remembering Nick Smith who died on this day in 2017.

He passed away after being diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease having battled the illness for 101 days.

He played alongside Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield and Jamie Jones-Buchanan in the club’s academy.

Sinfield has since raised millions in the fight against MND running seven marathons in seven days in 2020, 101 miles in 24 hours and seven ultramarathons in a week this year.

All of this has come after his former teammate Rob Burrow was diagnosed with MND in December 2019.

Many have remembered Smith today, another who battled MND courageously like Burrow, and Leeds have joined this retweeting the following:
