Leeds Rhinos quartet make loan switch to Cornwall

Leeds Rhinos have done it tough recently.

In fact after the loss of new signing Zak Hardaker due to a seizure on Tuesday which saw the fullback medically stood down, the Rhinos were down to just 19 players going into their game against Hull KR.

Despite this and with players out of position and three teenagers in the side, Leeds claimed a shock win over the league’s form team 12-0.

However, with Salford waiting in two weeks’ time Leeds’ injury crisis is due to lessen with Richie Myler, David Fusitu’a and Tom Holroyd all possible returnees for Leeds’ next league match whilst Zak Hardaker may also make his second Leeds debut.

This perhaps explains Leeds’ decision to allow four youngsters to join Cornwall on loan. The four in question are Oli Field, Joe Gibbons, Mackenzie Turner and Joe Hird.

Oli Field is perhaps the highest profile of the group having been named in Leeds’ squad for the Hull KR game and being given number 31 at the start of the season. Meanwhile Joe Hird has caught the eye in the academy.

The four will make the switch for a two week period.
