Leeds Rhinos have released an update on the condition of star hooker Danny Levi, after he was stretchered off in today’s game against Castleford Tigers.
The Rhinos lost 36-34 in arguably the best game of the season so far, but the result comes as second nature now, after Levi looked in an awful way at Wheldon Road.
His head collided with the hip of teammate Chris Hankinson, and after a 10-15 minute stoppage, he was carried by the Rhinos, Tigers and NHS staff off the field, before being taken to hospital in an ambulance.
The incident occured at around 3.35pm on Sunday, and around two hours later, boss Brad Arthur revealed that the former Canberra man was conscious, though initially reported that he had numbness runining through his body.
That numbness eventually went away, and Leeds have now released another statement confirming that Levi has been given the all-clear.
The club said via social media: “We are pleased to report that Danny Levi has been given the all clear following scans this evening and released to go home.
“Thank you to all the NHS staff who looked after Danny and the medical teams from the Rhinos and Castleford who used their expertise to look after Danny immediately on the pitch.
“We would like to wish Danny a speedy recovery.”
