Leeds Rhinos produce sneak preview on 2023 home shirt as they prepare for launch following “significant robbery”

After a strange season in 2022, Leeds Rhinos are looking forward to 2023.

The Rhinos started 2022 in terrible form and were second bottom in April and as they hosted Toulouse at Headingley there was a fear that by the end of the night Leeds could be bottom especially when they fell 6-0 behind.

However, under the guide of Rohan Smith the Rhinos turned things around losing just six games under the guide of Smith throughout a second half of the campaign which guided them back to Old Trafford for the first time in five years playing some brilliant rugby.

Sadly, Leeds came up short in the decider against St Helens so it is a case of trying to go one better in 2023 and Leeds have already taken the steps to do that by announcing the signings of Luke Hooley and Leon Ruan in the last couple of days alongside the arrival of James McDonnell and Justin Sangare as Smith puts his faith in younger players.

The excitement around next season is only going to build tomorrow as Leeds unveil their 2023 home shirt which appears to be taking a different direction to last year’s going by the sneak preview posted by the Rhinos tonight.

It appears to be incorporating a darker shade of blue, similar to that of the 2020 kit or the 2021 save the rhinos jersey the club released.

Meanwhile, the amber detailing could be reminiscent of a shirt Leeds won the Grand Final in back in 2007.

The kit itself will be released at 8am in the morning but fans who are signed up to the club’s retail newsletter will get the first look.

The launch may have been hastened by the fact kit suppliers Elite Sports Pro were victims of a “significant robbery” which saw 2023 merchandise from Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers, Huddersfield Giants and Hull KR stolen.
