Leeds Rhinos predicted line-up v Wigan Warriors after latest injury blow

Leeds Rhinos boss Brad Arthur

Leeds Rhinos take on Wigan Warriors and Brad Arthur will be forced into at least one change after a recent injury blow.

Hooker Andy Ackers is beginning what is set to be a 12-week layoff after suffering a hamstring injury in last weekend’s Challenge Cup defeat at St Helens, so Jarrod O’Connor will come into the matchday 17.

Half-back Matt Frawley and prop Tom Holroyd are also vying for a call-up, along with outside-backs Alfie Edgell and Ethan Clark-Wood.

With both sides reeling after being knocked out of the Challenge Cup it could be a classic at Headingley and here’s how Leeds Rhinos could line up.

Predicted Leeds Rhinos line-up

Full-back: Lachie Miller

Played the full 80 in his comeback last week, did okay and will surely keep his spot.

Wing: Riley Lumb

Leeds won’t want the youngster to play every game, but he has done well so far and will probably continue.

Centre: Harry Newman

Had a decent game last week and will need to back that up.

Centre: Ash Handley

Switching to a wing is an option, but he’s more likely to continue in his new position.

Wing: Ryan Hall

Set to make his 500th career appearance, his 336th for Leeds.

Stand-off: Brodie Croft

It’d be a major surprise if there was a change here.

Scrum-half: Jake Connor

Matt Frawley is back in contention, but Connor has been a big influence this year – and is the team’s goal kicker – so may keep the spot.

Prop: Mikolaj Oledzki

Realistically, only an injury would keep Oledzki out of the side.

Hooker: Jarrod O’Connor

Coach Brad Arthur has confirmed O’Connor will start in place of the injured Andy Ackers, after being 18th man last week.

Prop: Keenan Palasia

Will be in the 13, either at loose-forward or front-row.

Second-row: James Bentley

There’s unlikely to be a change here.

Second-row: James McDonnell

Will be keen to start and have a big game against his former and home town club.

Loose-forward: Morgan Gannon

Was on the bench last week, but could start this time.

Sub: Cooper Jenkins

Has switched between starting and the bench, will take the latter role if Palasia is at prop.

Sub: Sam Lisone

Hasn’t had much game time recently, but will probably retain his place.

Sub: Tom Holroyd

Set to return from a two-game ban.

Sub: Jack Sinfield

Coach Brad Arthur says Sinfield will be on the bench, to cover hooker and the halves.
