Leeds Rhinos man left out of Kristian Woolf’s Tonga squad as St Helens and Huddersfield Giants men feature

World Cups are being finalised down under this morning and now former St Helens boss Kristian Woolf has finalised his squad for the World Cup having previously name an extended squad.

Woolf has just made history becoming the first coach to win three Super League Grand Finals in a row whilst leading St Helens to their fourth ahead of joining the Dolphins in 2023.

Unsurprisingly, he has included two St Helens players in his squad in the shape of Konrad Hurrell and Will Hopoate.

However, Agnatius Paasi misses out on the squad as does Leeds Rhinos’ David Fusitu’a who has been struggling with injury throughout 2022 and hasn’t played since Leeds’ dramatic win over Huddersfield in Round 25 meaning he has missed the last five games set to become six assuming he misses Leeds’ friendly against New Zealand on Saturday.

Huddersfield Giants’ Tui Lolohea is named in the squad and will be an important pivot.

Former Warrington and Salford prop Ben Murdoch-Masila is named amongst other NRL stars such as Daniel Tupou of Sydney and Jason Taumalolo.

The full squad can be seen below:
