Leeds Rhinos linked with first 2027 signing as NRL enforcer tipped to make move

With a number of confirmed departures and a lack of announcements causing jitters among their fanbase, Leeds Rhinos could have finally landed their first signing for 2027.

With prop Mikolaj Oledzki one of five men set to be leaving the club at the season’s end, the club are in need of some reinforcements, and they have reportedly eyed an overseas enforcer to replace the outgoing England international.

Wests Tigers man Royce Hunt has been linked with a move to Headingley. The 30-year-old is under contract at the club until the end of 2027, but with Benji Marshall’s side looking to free up some room on the salary cap, Hunt is said to be one of three players that could be shown the door at the end of 2026.

As a result, that has seen him tipped to move away, with Australian journalist The Mole revealing that Brad Arthur’s side could be Hunt’s landing spot. Leeds have more than enough room on the quota spots, with the club having six overseas players out of a possible 10 contracted to the club next season.

Hunt has played 11 games so far for Wests this season, featuring off the bench in each of those games. A former Samoan international, he made his representative debut at the 2022 World Cup, and was a starting front rower in the Final defeat to Australia.
