Leeds Rhinos legend Ryan Bailey reveals who he wants to take over as Leeds Rhinos head coach

Leeds Rhinos have hardly been pulling up any trees recently.

Just one win in six games has consigned the West Yorkshire side to third bottom alongside Castleford Tigers and Toulouse Olympique.

And, with a Challenge Cup clash against the Tigers coming up this weekend, all eyes will be firmly fixed on Richard Agar’s successor and Lee Radford as they attempt to turn things around for their respective sides.

However, for Rhinos legend Ryan Bailey, he is not keen on the idea that Leeds should wait to bring in a new coach.

And, the former enforcer has revealed who he wants to take the coaching mantle.

When asked who he wanted as head coach, Bailey simply replied with “Sinny.”

Obviously, Sinfield still holds a lot of respect amongst his former teammates and Bailey wants the current Leicester Tigers defence coach to take over at Headingley.

He is currently within touching distance of the English Premiership title with the club, with Leicester occupying top spot heading into the final few days of the season.

However, it’s off the field where Sinfield has earned the most praise, raising over £4 million for Motor Neurone Disease research in two separate challenges.

First, Sinfield ran seven marathons in seven days and then the former Leeds Rhinos stalwart ran 101 miles in 24 hours – both to raise money for the fight of his friend and former teammate Rob Burrow against MND.

It’s very likely that the 41-year-old will set himself another arduous task in 2022 as he continues to grow the awareness and funding to combat the horrific disease.
