The future of Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield has been up in the air recently.

The seven-time Super League Champion and subsequently Super League’s most successful ever skipper has done a brilliant job at Leicester Tigers since leaving his role as Director of Rugby at Leeds in 2021 after three years and helping the club to a Challenge Cup Final win.

When Sinfield retired from rugby league as a treble winner in 2015 he took on a challenge in rugby union with Yorkshire Carnegie and he did the same with the Tigers.

As Defence Coach he helped the Tigers to the Premiership which has resulted in him being pursued by England Rugby Union.

This comes after Eddie Jones, who has been open about his desire to coach in rugby league especially with the NRL’s South Sydney Rabbitohs and has been chased by Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves in the past, was relieved of his position and England identifying Leicester Head Coach Steve Borthwick as their main target.

At first it was suggested that England would pay £2 million for both Borthwick and Sinfield but then this figure dropped down to £1 million and it seemed Sinfield wouldn’t be part of the move and was even tipped to take over from Borthwick as Leicester Head Coach.

Now though The Telegraph is reporting that both Borthwick and Sinfield will be headed to the England set up after Borthwick pushed hard for Sinfield to join him.

It is reported that the two will be unveiled tomorrow.
