Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield and his incredible transformation of current side laid bare

Not only has Kevin Sinfield showed his incredible fundraising endeavours for his friend Rob Burrow and the Motor Neurone Disease Association, but the former Leeds Rhinos stalwart has also continued his excellence on the field, too.

When Sinfield left rugby league to join the Leicester Tigers in the 15-man code back in August of last year, the impact he could have on such a club in a different code was always going to be felt.

However, after joining as defence coach, the impact has been immediate and seriously impressive.

Leicester currently sit top of the Premiership with 16 wins from 19 games, 12 points clear of second-placed Saracens and with just five games to go, looking like title winners and scrum-half Ben Youngs has hailed the inclusion of Sinfield in the coaching staff.

“Aled Walters, the S&C guy, head of performance, his knowledge and expertise are absolutely huge,” scrum-half Ben Youngs told the i newspaper.

There is Wiggy [scrum-half Richard Wigglesworth], coming in and coaching and playing.

“You add in guys like Kev [defence coach Kevin Sinfield], who I can’t speak highly enough of – what he has done for MND, but also just the way his presence is, he’s very to the point and just has that aura about him. That drive to be successful oozes from him and becomes a bit infectious.”

It’s an incredible transformation for the Tigers who finished sixth last season – and Sinfield has been so integral to that upturn in form.
