Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Peacock in incredible charity move

Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Peacock is set to embark on an incredible 100-mile run in order to raise money for charity.

The money raised will be for Greenhouse Sports – a charity which works with about 7,500 young people providing sports coaching and mentoring at schools across London.

SalesStar UK is to be the headline sponsor of this challenge and Pete Evans, practice partner at SalesStar UK, told the Yorkshire Post: “Greenhouse Sports is a charity which does some amazing work with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“It empowers young people and enhances their life chances through sports coaching and activities, and we believe sport should be accessible to everyone regardless of their background.”

Peacock himself had this to say on the challenge when doing a vlog ahead of one of his practice runs.

“In six weeks time, me and Simon Dent will be running two double marathons around London twice,” Peacock told Sky Sports.

“Last year we did it once for Greenhouse Sports project – this year is the 20th anniversary of the charity coming into existence so that’s why we thought we would do something special.

“We are trying to raise money for a roof for the centre where Greenhouse work out of because that’s been damaged.

“We’re going to do four video logs – people think you’re crazy but the most difficult part is the training and how much training is required to do.

“Alongside working and juggling three kids, so far this week I’ve run 40k in four different runs.”
