Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Jones-Buchanan ‘worried’ about Hull FC’s Luke Gale

In Friday night’s game between St Helens and Hull FC live on Sky Sports, one man wasn’t playing for the Black and Whites.

That was halfback and captain Luke Gale who was left out of Brett Hodgson’s thinking following good work by Josh Reynolds and Joe Lovodua in Hull’s win over Catalans Dragons a fortnight ago.

But, former teammate and coach Jamie Jones-Buchanan revealed on Sky Sports he was ‘worried’ about Gale.

“I worry about Luke Gale and how he’s taken it,” Jones-Buchanan said.

“It’s important he gets back in the team and finds some continuity because he’s missed seven games through suspension and will be really frustrated.

“He will want to feel part of a team that is developing this season.”

Fellow Sky Sports pundit Terry O’Connor said it showed the rest of the Hull team that Hodgson doesn’t care about reputation when selecting his side.

“That sends a message to the rest of the team.” O’Connor said.

“Josh Griffin is on the bench and he’s got to cope with that, too.”
