Leeds Rhinos include two surprise names in Magic Weekend side

Leeds Rhinos

For the fourth time, Leeds Rhinos and Castleford Tigers clash at the Magic Weekend at St James’ Park.

The Tigers have won two of the previous three but Leeds Rhinos really kick started their season last year with a win against the Tigers in Newcastle.

Castleford are desperate for a win with just two this season one of which came against the Rhinos.

Leeds aren’t just playing for the two points but are looking to do something special for Doddie Weir as they don a special jersey in honour of him and to raise money in the fight against MND.

Leeds need a win for their play-offs hopes.

The team news is now in.

The big call is, after Rohan Smith said he wouldn’t play last week, Blake Austin starts in the halves with Richie Myler which means Ash Handley starts at fullback.

There is also the surprise inclusion of off season signing Luis Roberts at centre.

He hasn’t played since February but has been tearing it up in the Reserves.

He keeps Liam Tindall out of the side. The winger is expected to sign for Hull FC next season.

Leeds are wearing a special MND jersey in honour of Doddie Weir.
