Leeds Rhinos’ head coach target Ryan Carr set for shock move

Apparent Leeds Rhinos target Ryan Carr has been linked with the vacant Wests Tigers assistant coaching role.

Carr, who held the reins at the Featherstone Rovers for 2019 where he guided the club to within 80 minutes of Super League, is highly-rated within rugby league and currently coaches the Parramatta Eels’ New South Wales Cup side.

He has been linked with a move to Headingley as Richard Agar reportedly gears up for a more behind-the-scenes role, though that has been disputed in some circles.

With Tim Sheens making the move to Wests in a Director of Rugby capacity, attention has been turned to securing a new coaching set-up alongside underfire Michael Maguire.

2016 premiership-winning coach with the Cronulla Sharks Shane Flanagan has also been linked to the job, alongside former Sydney Roosters assistant Nathan Cayless, but Carr is thought by many to be leading the way.

The former Featherstone boss linked with the Rhinos whilst head coach at Rovers.
