Leeds Rhinos head coach Rohan Smith gives heartbreaking news on Harry Newman

When Harry Newman went off the field against Hull KR, there were a few ominous gasps amongst the Leeds Rhinos faithful.

A hamstring injury it was later confirmed was another damning blow to a young, exciting talent that is one of the most impressive players to have stepped foot on the rugby league field in recent years.

Scans earlier in the week, however, revealed that Newman has suffered a new hamstring injury rather than a re-occurrence of the injury that side-lined him earlier this season.

The England international has commenced his rehabilitation and the club medical team will work with relevant specialists to aid Harry in his recovery. At this stage, no timescale has been put on his return to play, but head coach Rohan Smith revealed that he likely will be out for the rest of the season.
