Harry Newman has quickly turned into one of the brightest young talents in rugby league.
After suffering an injury in pre-season, however, the Leeds Rhinos centre missed the start of the season.
And, in a cruel twist of fate, Newman was sidelined once more just 60 minutes into his return game away at Wakefield Trinity earlier in the season.
Now though, he is on the road to recovery and sent out videos on his social media Instagram page detailing him squatting 215kg as well as sprinting on the pitch.
It would be a welcome return for new head coach Rohan Smith if Newman is back soon with the club already seeing a whole host of players come back into contention.
Zak Hardaker, Richie Myler and David Fusitu’a were all part of Leeds’ 23-8 loss to Salford Red Devils at the weekend, but with more game time the amount of improvement will be considerable.
Newman, meanwhile, will be hoping to force his way into contention for Shaun Wane’s thinking at the end of the year for the World Cup as he battles for a centre spot alongside the likes of St Helens’ Mark Percival and Brisbane Broncos’ Herbie Farnworth.
