Leeds Rhinos had to beat other clubs to Super League signing

Leeds Rhinos have made a number of signings going into 2023.

The Rhinos have drafted in Leigh Leopards centre Nene MacDonald on a two year deal. Meanwhile, NRL prop Sam Lisone joins the club after winger David Fusitu’a convinced him to make the move.

Castleford Tigers winger has joined the club and could act as both a centre and a winger next season as Leeds look for versatility and cover.

Batley Bulldogs’ Luke Hooley joins the club as does Leigh Leopards winger Luis Roberts and York’s Toby Warren as well as Leon Ruan from Doncaster who impressed against Wakefield Trinity on Boxing Day.

Among these signings was French international Justin Sangare.

Sangare was outstanding in the Rugby League World Cup even making England struggle in the second game of the group stages.

This came after he stood out for Toulouse Olympique last season with his explosivity and his offload game.

Even as the eventually relegated Toulouse struggled, he did well and underlined his potential against Wakefield but now it transpires Leeds beat Super League clubs to his signature making this move from the Rhinos even more impressive Serious About Rugby League understands.

Who these Super League clubs remains unclear but it shows the quality of the young forward.
