Leeds Rhinos fans rage as incident of Rhyse Martin ban gets leaked

Leeds Rhinos will be without three players this weekend following the Disciplinary Match Review Panel’s decision to ban them for various indiscretions.

Whilst Aidan Sezer has been banned for a trip and David Fusitu’a for a high tackle, Rhyse Martin has been banned for dangerous contact – and Leeds fans are not happy at the footage that has been leaked online.

Martin was shown contacting a Salford Red Devils player as he went to offload, something which was picked up by the MRP after the game and not by the referee.

Here is the footage shown below:

That ban means that Martin will sit out Leeds’ game against Hull KR at Craven Park on Friday night.

There was good news on the ban front for the Rhinos too, though, with Aidan Sezer getting his two-match ban reduced for an intentional trip reduced to one following an appeal hearing last night.

That incident hadn’t been notched by referee Ben Thaler either, with Salford boss Paul Rowley speaking out on that matter after the game.

“I think we got some real tough calls. The trip – Leeds should be down to 12 men and they’re not and I don’t get how cannot see that,” Rowley said after the game.

“The first two six agains against on the second half were back to six, back to six, sin bin. I think that was a bit the occasion getting the better of everybody and it became a Leeds party at the end of it but the best team won in my opinion.”
