Leeds Rhinos saw their play-off hopes dashed last night as they fell to a massive 38-0 defeat against Wigan Warriors.
It’s a loss that means the Rhinos must defeat Hull KR at Craven Park next week, where the Robins have only lost twice all season, and also hope that other results go their way.
Therefore it’s looking likely that Leeds Rhinos will miss the play-offs for a second consecutive season and their trophy drought will continue.
For some fans, the nature of last night’s defeat has been deemed as unacceptable with Leeds folding against the superior Warriors and failing to get any foothold in the game.
They only managed to play the ball inside Wigan’s 20 yards on five occasions in a game that Brad Arthur has conceded saw the Rhinos ‘dominated’ by Matt Peet’s side, despite beating them handily just over a month ago.
Now, Leeds Rhinos fans have taken to social media to have their say and there’s a strong consensus that the squad is not good enough with fans left fuming.
How Leeds Rhinos fans reacted to huge defeat
The complaints from the fans was across all social media but in response to the club’s ‘Full-Time’ post on X, fans responded with demands for major change.
Plenty of that change was focused on the forward pack with fans agreeing with Arthur’s assessment that Wigan ‘dominated’ the physical aspect of the game.
One fan argued: “Until we get some size and aggression and mental toughness into our pack, nothing will change.”
Another added: “Not big enough, not strong enough, not quick enough… not good enough, simple as that. Can’t see much season being much different.”
Talk of next season was on the mind of many, who were seemingly writing off all hope of making the play-offs, with one fan calling on others to ‘vote with their feet’ in 2025.
Similar ending to last season. Top work Uncle Gary, Paul Craddick etc. Hope fans vote with feet next year this clubs not worthy of our hard earned money or time anymore! About 3-4 players worth keep rest arnt worth scrap

Another said: “One day we might have a team to be proud of again. Sadly, it’s a million years away. One pathetic rebuild after another.”

Over on Facebook, responding to Serious About Rugby League’s player ratings, fans weren’t much kinder.
Andrew Gorton joked: “Leeds were lucky to score zero.”
Simon Davison credited Wigan, noting: “Wow. What a dreadful performance from Leeds. Tbf Wigan were very good. French fantastic.”
“Men against boys,” was the assessment of Kerron Cross and Andy Thomas.
The Rhinos will now face the huge task of defeating Hull KR at Craven Park whilst hoping that Catalans drop points against either London or Hull, and Leigh fail to beat St Helens.
