Leeds Rhinos face crisis as injury blow made worse

Leeds Rhinos could have a bit of a crisis on their hands.

Already without Blake Austin and with Morgan Gannon in the halves, Leeds’ number seven Aidan Sezer limped off the field after a solid start against Champions St Helens last night.

It came after he probed and looked for a gap and nearly found it behind Konrad Hurrell but as the former Leeds centre and Jonny Lomax shut the gap Sezer picked up an injury his lower leg it seemed.

Jon Wells has reported that it looks to be a groin injury.

Some Leeds fans have expressed their hope that Sezer’s halfback partner Blake Austin could be back next week to off set the loss of Sezer but that won’t be the case with Rohan Smith saying when asked if Austin could return:

“Not next week, no. Not next week.”

Making matters worse, Morgan Gannon, who started in the halves for Leeds last night also went off injured.

Meanwhile, Harry Newman joined him with what appears to be a fourth hamstring injury in 18 months.
