Leeds Rhinos dealt double injury boost at pivotal time

Leeds Rhinos Brad Arthur

Leeds Rhinos have been boosted by the return of two forwards ahead of their clash with Salford Red Devils this weekend. Brad Arthur takes his Leeds side to the Salford Stadium on Saturday afternoon as the club look to build on last week’s win over Huddersfield Giants and continue their play-off push.

Arthur will be feeling confident about his pack options, too, with Mickael Goudemand and Justin Sangare stepping back into the fold after overcoming injuries. Sangare had missed the last three games due to a knee issue, but his size and presence in the side could make a big impact for the Rhinos.

Goudemand could also play a part on Saturday with the forward recovering from the shoulder injury he picked up against Warrington Wolves.

The Rhinos have seen Sam Eseh Jr return to parent club Wigan Warriors and the club have felt comfortable enough about their pack options to allow Leon Ruan join Hull FC on loan for the remainder of the season.

Salford boss Paul Rowley has made just one change to his 21-man squad for the game with Chris Atkin stepping back into the fold to replace Cade Cust, who according to reports, will join Hull FC permanently at the end of the season.

The clash is a big one for both sides are they push to claim a top six finish. Salford are currently fifth in the table, four points behind leaders Warrington Wolves. Leeds are just four points behind the Red Devils but the Rhinos’ focus will be on sixth placed St Helens, who after losing their last five games now occupy the final play-off spot.
