Leeds Rhinos have the ‘capability but not the titles yet’ according to new signing Ryan Hall who has given his verdict on the club’s status heading into the 2025 Super League season.
Hall is returning to Headingley after a six-year hiatus that saw him head Down Under before joining Hull KR and claiming the all-time Super League try-scoring record.
During his time with the Robins, Hall scored 62 tries and at 37 he’s hoping he can continue his scoring exploits and be “an asset” to Leeds Rhinos once again.
He joins a club which has failed to make the play-offs in the past two seasons but according to Hall, Leeds Rhinos are a side with all the capability and ability to win given their squad.
“There’s a lot of capability but not got the titles yet,” the winger told BBC Radio Leeds.
“We’re all champion players but we just haven’t got the titles yet. It’s a work in progress.”

That work in progress is being overseen by ex-NRL coach Brad Arthur with performances seeing a marked improvement under his leadership in 2025, despite the fact that the win rate dropped to just 50% from 53%.
Hall explained: “They’re all very capable and very good players but we just need to go and win something to go alongside the level that they’re playing at.
“I think that is what the Golden Generation did so well, they actually went and won stuff and got the titles to their names. It’s time for the new generation to do the same.”
The Golden Generation were a dominant force unlike any other than Super League has seen. Hall won six of those Grand Finals but he stopped short of outlining a seventh as his goal for 2025, instead outlining his intent to just help improve the club.
“I just want to help the team progress and be an asset to this team,” he explained:
“Wherever that takes us, that’ll take us but I want to do myself justice and play well.
“If I do that then I think I will help the team out. I don’t want to say where we want to get as a team because 11 other teams are saying exactly the same – that they want to win.
“We’re setting our sights high and just hoping that we can achieve something.”
Currently, Leeds Rhinos are priced as fifth favourites to lift the Grand Final with Sky Bet making them 10/1 shots for success at Old Trafford in October.
