He might not have had as many minutes as he’d have liked in 2025 so far but Leeds Rhinos youngster Jack Sinfield is taking whatever opportunity comes his way.

Sinfield featured off the bench in Leeds’ 12-10 victory over Wigan Warriors and replaced Jarrod O’Connor at hooker.

He also snagged the match-winning try following an assist off Ryan Hall’s head.

Talking to the Rhinos media, he was thrilled to add to his tryscoring tally.

He said: “I was just in the right place at the right time and I got pretty lucky with it coming off Ryan (Hall)’s head.

“The main thing was getting the win so it was nice to be a part of that.

“When I scored, nobody knew whether it was a try or not so I was waiting for Ryan to get up off the floor to tell us whether it’d hit his hand or his head!”

The Leeds Rhinos youngster was happy to get the win, especially for Hall on his 500th appearance.

He added: “Obviously, it’s his 500th game tonight and we put a big emphasis on a strong performance for him this week.

“It’s a really special thing to achieve in the game so I’m glad we did it for Ryan.”

Sinfield touched on his relationship with his head coach and said he’s been very honest about what he wants from him.

He said: “I think Brad’s been really clear on what he expects from me so that’s making my job really easy, whether I’m starting or off the bench.

“I’ve not played as much as I would’ve liked to over the last couple of years but I feel like I’m in a good place now to put my best foot forward and be in the 17 each week.

“I’m just enjoying every minute I can get, especially on days like today when we’re winning.”

More to come from Leeds Rhinos, claims Sinfield

Everyone in the Leeds Rhinos camp has noticed an improvement in their full-game performances but Sinfield admitted there’s still more to come from the side.

He said: “For most of the year, we felt like we’ve been strong for a large majority of the game.

“It’s just little patches where we’ve let ourselves down.

“We put a big focus tonight on playing for eighty minutes and I think we did that and we got the rewards for it in the end.”

Leeds Rhinos travel to Warrington Wolves next Friday night and Sinfield expects another tough game.

He finished: “They’re a great team. I watched their game last night against St Helens.

“They played very well, they’re very skillful, they’ve got a pretty new spine but they looked to be pretty sharp.

“We’ve definitely got a job on our hands but we’re pretty confident.”
